New Lamborghini Revuelto debuts in the UAE with over 1000 horsepower

Lamborghini is a brand that has always been known for its exciting, petrol-fueled models that are revered for their chest-thumping performance and youthful vigor. However, as times change, even hardened premium marques like Lamborghini have to adopt a more environmentally-friendly approach to sports cars. This is where the new Lamborghini Revuelto comes in, having made its international debut in March 2023, reaching the UAE in November 2023, courtesy of Ultimate Motors.

Arriving as a replacement for the fantastic Aventador, the all-new Revuelto is the Sant'Agata-based automaker’s first plug-in hybrid. Lamborghini’s new High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) is an extremely important model for the company, as it will play a crucial role in pivoting the perception of new & existing customers of the brand. From this point on, Lamborghini will accelerate down an electrified path to creating greener yet meaner cars.

Speaking his mind at the reveal of the new Lamborghini Revuelto was Rakan Turki, CEO of Lamborghini Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The chief executive said, “The unveiling of the Revuelto represents a quantum leap for Lamborghini. Since its announcement our clientele in the UAE had overwhelmingly positive feedback on the latest flagship model, the Revuelto exemplifies Lamborghini's V12 super sports heritage through its avant-garde design, highly efficient aerodynamics, and innovative carbon frame concept. This debut in the UAE automotive market signifies a remarkable step in providing automotive excellence through iconic design & performance, and we cannot wait to see the Revuelto making its mark on the UAE road just like the Aventador did.”

Exterior

The front design of the new Revuelto takes generous inspiration from the extremely striking Lamborghini Sian while retaining the highly recognizable wedge-shaped nose of the Aventador intact. The highly impressionable Y-shaped LED DRLs cannot be missed, with the tucked-in LED headlights adding to the overall aggression that is the face of the Lamborghini Revuelto. The front bumper also gets Lambo’s bull-inspired ‘horns’ that prominently rise from the protruding lower apron.

The side profile of the Revuelto is typical of Lamborghini, in that the body has been heavily sculpted with a wide floor plan that gives way to various cuts and creases. The most noticeable facet of the Revuelto’s side must be its aerodynamically friendly but aggressive-looking NACA intakes that are located just behind the stylish scissor doors, which help cool the rear brake cooling duct. The Revuelto can be had with 21-inch wheels up front and 22-inch wheels at the back, shod with Potenza Sport tires.

The scooped-out carbon-fiber roof leads air directly into the engine intakes, with the rest of the flow being directed toward the electrically activated rear wing. The rear of the Lamborghini Revuelto looks absolutely stunning, boasting huge twin exhausts mounted right up top, flanked by svelte Y-shaped LED taillights. The slits right below the taillights are air vents to further improve aerodynamic performance, while the noticeably upswept rear diffuser looks really sporty and aggressive.

Interior & Features

Understandably, the interior of the Lamborghini Revuelto is the place to be. It is covered in carbon fiber, high-quality alcantara and leather, and contrast stitching. The door panels also incorporate a cool design, while the sporty seats feature the same unique hexagonal pattern found on the door pads. The flat-bottom steering wheel is stock-full of buttons & switches, and it also features the Italian flag (obviously). The wheel further integrates huge paddle shifters, which would be an absolute treat to use.

The Revuelto’s cabin scores three high-definition displays, which come in the form of a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an 8.4-inch portrait-style infotainment screen, and a 9.1-inch landscape-style secondary digital infotainment display that is situated in front of the co-driver. Getting in and out of this Lambo is definitely not easy, though the lovely scissor doors sure make for a grand entrance wherever you go.

The features list of the new Lamborghini Revuelto incorporates active aerodynamics, Carbon Ceramic Brakes Plus (CCBP), over-the-air (OTA) software updates, Lamborghini Connect vehicle tracking system, and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The Revuelto’s ADAS houses important safety nannies such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Active Lane Departure Warning (ALDW), Lane Change Warning (LCW), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Engine & Performance

The Lamborghini Revuelto features the brand’s mighty 6.5-liter V12 petrol engine, which has been put on a diet, so it now weighs 17 kg less than the unit powering the Aventador. Being a plug-in hybrid, the Revuelto gets a 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which can be charged to full capacity at up to 7 kW. There are three electric motors, two of which are placed at the front, each producing 350 Nm of torque. Of course, there is a four-wheel-drive system.

The output of the new Revuelto totals just north of 1,000 horsepower, with the overall torque peaking at over 1,060 Nm. As far as this Lamborghini plug-in hybrid is concerned, top whack is reportedly over 350 km/h, while the run from 0-100 km/h comes in at just 2.5 seconds. Transmission chores are handled by a new double-clutch 8-speed automatic gearbox, which is designed to be ultra-responsive yet smooth when driving in the city.

Conclusion

While some folks will be a tad disappointed that the successor to the Aventador is electrified, the Revuelto still features a large-capacity and thumping good V12 that sounds absolutely fabulous! Considering the predecessor to the new Lamborghini Revuelto cost around AED 2 million in the UAE, expect the starting price of this new Lambo plug-in hybrid to be a tad bit higher.

If you thought that the Aventador was a bit too old to match your style, then the new Revuelto will easily be able to pull you into the showroom. Of course, its excellent performance characteristics will only add to its overall charm.
