Cadillac Escalade IQ lands in the Middle East with 700 km of range

The Cadillac Escalade has been the quintessential American SUV in the region since it was launched in 1999. Since then, the Escalade has been getting more and more hi-tech and spacious and now it has gone electric - meet the Escalade IQ.

The big headline is the 700 Km range of the electric SUV. The range is thanks to General Motors EV-specific Ultium platform.  The high-voltage architecture enables 800-volt DC fast charging and more than 200 kWh of available energy. 

The Escalade IQ’s dual motor setup offers 750 horsepower and 1064 Nm of torque with the SUv capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in just 5 seconds. 

Inside, you will find a massive 55-inch touchscreen (yes FIFTY FIVE INCH) that runs on  Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 12 Cockpit Platform and uses the company’s 5G modem for connectivity. The touchscreen has in-built Google Maps, voice assistance, charging station information, and Google Play app support.

Optional extras include stowable tray tables, 12.6-inch-diagonal personal screens, a rear command center screen, dual wireless phone charging pads, massaging seats, and headrest speakers. A 19-speaker sound system is available as standard, but for the avid music lovers a 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system is also available.

The Escalade IQ gets a unique parking assistance tech called the Cadillac Arrival Mode. It uses the car’s four wheel steer to move diagonally, making it easier when pulling into or out of tight spaces. Another hi-tech feature is the ability of the EV SUV to act as a portable power generator to provide power to external appliances and devices. 

Regular production of the Escalade IQ will begin next summer at GM's Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center in Michigan. Pricing for the Middle East market will be announced closer to the sale date.
