Quick Review

With no major changes and only cosmetic upgrades and improved features, Honda have adopted the tried and tested approach for the 2012 Honda Odyssey. Everything that makes the Honda Odyssey one of the coolest minivans to own is still very much present.

There are 3 versions available, LX, EXL and Touring. All versions come equipped with a 6 cylinder 3.5 liter engine producing 250 horsepower and 343 Nm. Whereas the LX and EXL models come equipped with a 5 speed transmission, the Touring benefits from a 6 speed transmission and slightly better fuel efficiency.

The interior is where the differences in the LX, EXL and Touring become prominent. Though all boast an extremely spacious, comfortable and safe cabin, the features are what set the versions apart. The 2012 models allow customers to change the configuration of the second row seats depending on whether two or three adults are seating and also allows the attachment of up to three child seats! The Touring models come equipped with a blind spot monitoring system, auto-leveling HID headlamps, a 16 inch entertainment screen with HDMI input and an absolutely brilliant sound system!

From the exterior, there is no denying that the Honda Odyssey is probably one of the best looking minivans out there. It looks sporty and young drivers will definitely not be ashamed of driving it around town unlike most other minivans which have become synonymous with soccer moms.

If however, the Honda Odyssey has not got you running to the showroom to book one just yet, check out competitors such as the Toyota Previa, Kia Carnival and Chrysler Grand Voyager.
