Quick Review

The Range Rover Evoque is a desirable, fun to drive and very stylish luxury SUV. With refined driving and those head turning looks, it’s an option worth considering if you’ve got the money to spend.

As with all Range Rovers, the interior is absolute top quality, but the Evoque adds a few youthful touches. It’s spacious enough inside, though the Coupe version lacks headroom. Boot size is decent, but again not class leading.

This is one off road vehicle that doesn’t disappoint for on road performance. It’s surprisingly agile with an outstanding ride – this is made even better with the Adaptive Dynamics package. It’s sharper to drive than the Freelander, and still retains the excellent Land Rover off-road capabilities.

Engine wise, the Evoque has a surprisingly sporty feel. The 2.0 turbocharged engine, though slower to 100km/h than many of its classmates, has better fuel economy than some, giving 8.7 L/100Km.

This is a car with character, but compared to others in its segment, it does fall behind on practicalities. The Audi Q5 and BMW X3 all have better cargo space, with their base models being more affordable. The Evoque however, does come with more equipment as standard.

If you want a luxury and youthful Land Rover that’s a bit different, the Evoque is an option to consider. It combines style with driving performance, so if you can afford to sacrifice some cargo space, you definitely won’t be disappointed.
