Quick Review

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a two door sports car by the Korean manufacturer that is available with two engine choices and packs plenty of punch for a true driving enthusiast. We are glad to see the 2013 Genesis Coupe has not undergone drastic cosmetic changes and still looks as brilliant as the previous model.

The 2.0 liter engine is capable of producing 210 horsepower and 299 Nm of torque, while the 3.8 liter engine produces 303 horsepower and 361 Nm of torque. Though both engine are mated to an automatic transmission, the 2.0 liter and 3.8 liter engines complete a 0 – 100 sprint in 8.2 seconds and 6.5 seconds respectively. The Genesis Coupe offers audible pleasure to it's occupants with it's deep exhaust growl when the driver begins to suffer from heavy right foot syndrome. Handling is exceptional and even through fast corners, the Genesis grips the road well.

In terms of the interior, a telescopic steering wheel is a new addition for the 2013 model and enhances the driving experience by ensuring you have the ideal driving position. If you opt for the top of the line model, the navigation system and abundance of leather are brilliant. However, it is in the base model that the Genesis Coupe's interior tends to disappoint. Though some may argue that being a sports car means having a stripped down interior, the base model interior was not to our liking.

As for the exterior, though majority of the 2013 is identical to it's predecessor, a new grille and LED lights have enhanced the look of the Genesis Coupe. Unlike the Veloster, the Genesis Coupe does a lot more than just look pretty on the outside. The Ford Mustang, Mazda MX-5 and Chevrolet Camaro are all worthy competitors to the Genesis Coupe.
