Rolls Royce Wraith Spirit of the Union Edition Review

Bespoke mobility is a characteristic that is synonymous with Rolls Royce Motor Cars. Having created exclusive diamond-finished paints for the Ghost Elegance and numerous Middle Eastern specials such as the Ghost Oasis Edition, the Wraith Spirit of the Union Edition shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Limited to just two units in the world, the Spirit of the Union Edition is commissioned to celebrate the UAE National Day and is the ultimate definition of ultra-exclusivity.

Exterior

Dressed in a subtle Arctic White hue, the Spirit of the Union Edition sets itself apart from the standard Wraith with distinct coach lines in green, red, and black to form the country’s flag. With seven spoke 21-inch part polished alloy wheels and a solid silver Spirit of Ecstasy adorning the anterior, it is perhaps this particular edition’s elegant and understated styling that makes it so very desirable.

Interior

Carrying over the colors of the UAE flag into the interior, the cabin of the Rolls Royce Wraith Spirit of the Union is built to perfection with quad-tone leather complimented by piano black and stainless-steel veneers. The overhead Starlight headliner, is both stylish and helps highlight the quality craftmanship that has gone into the creation of the exclusive automobile. Personalized engraved treadplates allow the Spirit of the Union Edition to flaunt its individuality, while Rolls Royce monograms on the headrests complete the experience.

Safety & Tech

Traditional without being archaic, the Rolls Royce Wraith welcomes a host of comfort, entertainment and safety features, which include a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, a touch infotainment controller, and the highlight of which is a concert-mimicking 1300 Watts sound system. On the safety front, there’s everything from force-limiting seatbelts and smart airbags to night vision assist and lane keeping assist, to ensure you and your loved ones are always encompassed in the highest of safety.

Drive

Churning out 624 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque from its twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 powerplant, the Rolls Royce Wraith Spirit of the Union Edition is no slouch. With the accelerator pedal pinned to the floor, the 1.7-ton beauty accelerates to the 100 km/h mark in a linear and unfussed 4.6-seconds, before hitting its electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

Far more suited to covering long distances in absolute comfort, the Wraith’s capability to embarrass sports cars is concealed beneath its opulent bodywork and an intelligent rear-wheel-drive system. Working to counteract the slightest hints of road noise and wind noise, are a set of ear-level speakers that cancel out unwanted noise to provide a drive that is both whisper quiet and ultra-comfortable – just as a Rolls Royce should be.

Verdict

Luxury comes in many sizes, shapes, and forms, but there aren’t quite as many things that stand out as much as a Rolls Royce. The Rolls Royce Wraith Spirit of the Union Edition, ups the ante and gives us a glimpse into the world of ultra-exclusive bespoke mobility.
