Nissan, a brand or rather a perception of an emblem of trust is one which has enjoyed prerogative over several other brands in the UAE. The illustrious Japanese brand in its septuagenarian days in the Middle East region and during the course of its sojourn, it has diligently concocted a robust lineage of cars and a legacy so palpable, that sans paying homage to it in a unique manner wouldn’t have done justice to the brand which through a pedigree created by models belonging to all body styles, has redefined its core traits such as reliability, toughness, spaciousness and luxury.

To extend its gratitude for the compassion bestowed upon by the region, Nissan paid tribute to the motley of landscapes which played a cavernous role in shaping up models that were ideal for the discerning, intrepid and even practical buyers through a campaign with the moniker, ‘Nas Nissan which is deciphered to ‘People of Nissan.’

This campaign entails a slew of stories of adventure, thrill and dreams from owners across the Middle East that will be disseminated on the company’s official handles and websites over a year. The bewildering tales of people shall encapsulate everything from inspiring one to take the road less traversed and administering sheer nostalgia to letting the readers know about lap times set by owners via the sports cars offered by the brand in the region. Such stories are likely to make some Nissan owners feel proud of their prized possessions and make them loyal towards the brand.

Through this campaign, Nissan owners are nudged to share their vivid photos and memorable encounters on the brand’s official Instagram handle with #NasNissan to be conferred upon with an opportunity to get featured on the page via the means of a weekly series that will be championed by the brand.

Here are some Nissan owners sharing about their dabble with their Nissan propositions:

Premiering here is Salim Al Balushi, who in an elated predisposition describes his penchant for the Nissan Patrol commenting, “Since my younger days, I’ve always dreamt of owning a Nissan Patrol. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of owning four Nissan Patrol cars, but feel the Super Safari is best suited to my lifestyle and is one of the best cars anyone could own.” The Oman Patrol Club is his brainchild and is its owner.

Breaking the tributary towards one of the world’s finest and Nissan’s thoroughbred sports car, GT-R, its fervent owner, Dhari Alasousi goes down the memory lane visiting his love for one of the most raw naturally-aspirated machines and how it turned into a dream through making the car spruced up with his preferred customisations in a video game that he used to fondly play when he was a toddler. He further elaborates, “As an adult, I am now living the dream I always had and am thrilled that I get to drive a GT-R.”

Yet another dweller of the region, Mohamed Al Maflahi revealed his inclination towards the brand in general and said, “The love for Nissan is inherited from our fathers and it will be passed on to our children. The love for sand and the desert lies in our blood and this love is linked with Nissan.”

Sowing the seeds of a glorious future in 1956 in the region with the launch of the ‘mammoth’ Patrol SUV and elongating its footprint with the construction of a headquarters in the Middle East in 1994, this was a move unheard of before and since then, it has been a journey worth commemorating as the brand became a de facto choice for locals and the expatriates alike capturing a commendable market share with models such as Sunny, Altima, Maxima, X-Trail, Pathfinder, Patrol and the GT-R. A momentous role has been played by its partners or distributors who helped the brand strengthen itself and maximise its calibre through astuteness and determined attitude. These flank Al Masaood Automobiles in Abu Dhabi, YK AlMoayyed & Sons in Bahrain, Arabian Automobiles Co. in Dubai, Bustami & Saheb Co. in Jordan, Abdulmohsen Abdulaziz Al Babtain in Kuwait, Rasamny-Younis Motor Company (RYMCO) in Lebanon, Suhail Bahwan Automobiles in Oman and Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co. in Qatar.

Abdulilah Wazni, Director of Product, Marketing, and Customer Experience at Nissan Middle East said: “By operating in the region for nearly 70 years, we have developed a thorough understanding of the Middle East and the people that reside within it. The ‘NasNissan initiative builds on the success of the Patrol Legends campaign launched last year and places our customers at the forefront. The unique stories submitted showcase the pride and joy of owning a Nissan in the region, and the owners who have supported the brand over years, and in several cases, across generations too.”
