Gone are the days where everything had to be looked after. The contemporary vehicles’ introduction have shown that our cars have become techy companions carrying out several functions by itself and intervening before our reflexes could provide an input. These ‘connected’ machines have been the need of the hour and global marques have been rolling out cutting-edge technologies to make them safer and provide with a more immersive experience. This has in turn led to lesser road hazards and flagged the mortality rate over years. Responding cleverly to this bandwagon is Nissan which has upped the safety ante with its newest suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that are anticipated to make driving a scintillating affair.

Providing a new direction to the brand through the virtues of Intelligent Driving, Intelligent Power and Intelligent Integration, the Japanese brand has strengthened its competitive position by offering its new models that adapt to the constantly changing desires of its consumers in the Middle East. As an aftermath of it, there is a profusion of driver assistance and convenience features that the consumers might appreciate and will play a solid role in helping the company achieve its objective of zero fatalities from Nissan vehicles across the globe.

First on a Nissan car in the Middle East, the Altima received its cutting-edge ProPILOT technology which flanked several advanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control and steering which rotates itself to centre the car back in the lane if it senses no command by the driver. We’re just getting started with these.

Revealed some months ago, the brand’s ground-breaking conceptualisation of autonomous driving and intelligent mobility, the Ariya electric SUV works as a plenary inspiration for the brand’s future. It also becomes yet another reason to visit the Expo 2020.

Currently, the ProPILOT is the centre of attraction as it also helps maintain a safe distance from the car ahead. Competition is just one reason behind the sheer determination of Nissan towards developing safer cars. A survey of global automotive consumer studies revealed that consumers gave safety the status of a pre-emptive feature that we can’t be oblivious to.

The Nissan Intelligent Mobility operates in three stages-Monitoring, Recovering and Protecting as it works as armour for the passengers proactively before, during and after a collision. It can be attributed to rodomontade, a surround view camera that detects objects on the sides and takes preventive steps such as alerting the driver and bringing the vehicle to a standstill in case of his lack of legality.

The usual list of features brings to you the much handy Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which pairs a smartphone to the car’s infotainment system. This won’t have the driver take his eyes off the road. The infotainment system then literally works like a smartphone.

A largesse shown by Nissan is that it has brought these benefits all the way to the grassroots level by offering these in most of its popular models such as the Sunny, X-Terra, Patrol, Altima, Kicks and X-TRAIL. Augmented connectivity resonates to greater peace of mind which is what these nifty and already reliable cars offer. If this is how the present is evolving, unequivocally the future is going to dawn with cars which serve as ideal companions on the tarmac.
