The Dubai Car Dealers Business Group (DCDBG) was formed in 2019 under the watchful eye of the umbrella of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI). Its primary aim is to unite the voices of member companies, while also serving their common interests and fostering public-private sector dialogues. Since its foundation, the group has been instrumental for the region’s automotive industry. Back in June 2021, the Dubai Car Dealers Business Group held a virtual General Assembly meeting.

It was during this meeting that the group announced that it will re-elect its Executive Committee for a second term. The Dubai Car Dealers Business Group is tasked with providing the quintessential platform for the many companies that operate in Dubai’s ever-growing and thriving automotive sector. This will not allow them to bring forth their opinions and suggestions, especially when it comes to the various challenges that continue to impact the industry year in, year out.

The group’s focus will involve resolving any issues that might arise for the various stakeholders, while also joining hands with government entities in the UAE. Cumulatively, there should be a positive change coming about in the industry as the two forces work together for everyone’s benefit. In fact, since its establishment in 2019, the Dubai Car Dealers Business Group has had a fruitful working relationship with government bodies such as Dubai Customs and the Road and Transport Authority (RTA).

Moreover, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry has extended its support towards the task on several major fronts. Among other important topics, some of the most noteworthy inputs from the DCCI came from its contribution in data sharing, vehicle infringement, changing insurance regulations etc. Over the recent year, the automotive industry has been going through a multitude of changes and progress, intertwined with periods of uncalming disruption and events. Most recently, one of the biggest factors causing disruption within the industry has been (ACES), which stands for Autonomous, Connected, Electric and Shared mobility.

For the Dubai Car Dealers Business Group, ACES is a vital feature of the industry to keep track of. In the coming years, the group will focus its efforts on readying the automotive industry for this ongoing trend, while also ushering in a positive sentiment among all stakeholders. As we know now, the meeting held by the General Assembly on June 14 arrived at an undivided decision, which was to re-elect all of the board members that were elected for the first term. Speaking of which, the members of the Dubai Car Dealers Business Group for the second term are: Michel Ayat (Chairman), Vincent Peter Wijnen (Deputy Chairman), Ivo A. Kapitzki (Secretary General), Ayhan Olcer (Treasurer), Axel Dreyer (Board Member), Waleed Alsayed (Board Member), and Suliman Alzaben (Board Member).

Speaking at the event was Michel Ayat, CEO of AWR Automotive, who said, “I am privileged to have been re-elected as Chairman of DCDBG. Along with the rest of my esteemed colleagues from the re-elected Executive Committee, DCDBG will steadfastly continue on its mission to address the various challenges impacting the automotive car dealers that will ultimately enhance the competitiveness of the industry. DCDBG is fully aligned to the newly formed structure of Dubai Chambers which is aimed to spearhead Dubai’s economic drive in the future, and we look forward to further strengthening the automotive sector which will enhance Dubai’s value proposition globally.”

At present, the main members of the Dubai Car Dealers Business Group include the AW Rostamani Automotive Group; Al Ghandi Auto, Al Futtaim Automotive, Galadari Automobiles, Al Nabooda Automobiles, AGMC, Gargash Enterprises, Juma Al Majid, Al Habtoor Motors, Al Tayer Motors, Union Motors, Al Naboodah Swaidan Motors, and Al Rostamani Trading Company.
