BMW Z4 Concept Breaks Cover At 2017 Pebble Beach Concours

Grabbing the opportunity by its metaphorical lapels, BMW recently unveiled the highly-anticipated Z4 Concept at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance – the playground of the rich and famous. An irresistible purveyor of thrills, the Z4 Concept flaunts compact proportions, a dynamic silhouette, and an emotionally appealing use of forms, the key ingredients in the creation of a timeless classic.

“The BMW Concept Z4 in an all-out driving machine,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design. “Stripping the car back to the essentials allows the driver to experience all the ingredients of motoring pleasure with supreme directness. This is total freedom on four wheels.”
Encapsulating the group’s vision of a modern roadster, the Z4 Concept features a dynamic front-end that is complimented by striking flanks and interplaying contours to generate a sense of power and emotion. The long wheelbase, low-slung silhouette and compact rear end, are reminiscent of iconic roadsters that don the brand’s insignia to this very day.

Inside and staying true to its focus on essentials, controls are grouped into “function islands”, allowing the driver to focus on the surreal driving experience and nothing else. Trim elements include carbon-fiber door sill finishers and embossed asymmetrical logos in the seats and instrument panel, to seal the interior’s sporting profile.
Looking the part, mechanical details of the exciting BMW Z4 Concept are likely to surface before its end of year reveal.
