BMW 3 Series 2017 Front

In the long history of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, these high-end global automakers have been manufacturing remarkable sport sedans with equally striking convertible versions. In 2017, there are new additions to their roster with innovative features and style. The C-Class and 3-Series will introduce you to higher-end sedan models that define the true meaning of luxury, class and performance.

The BMW 3-Series 2017 model has a sharp exterior and quality powertrain lineup. Both cars have sedan body styles, and an aggressive overall look. Mercedes opted to go with its new design philosophy of having a more fluidic design, big grille in the front, sloping trunk at the back. The BMW 3-series, on the other hand, is a bit more grown up. One can’t miss the front-end that is reminiscent of the new 5-series. In fact, the 3-series can be considered a mini 5-series.

With a responsive chassis and a variety of powertrains to choose from, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2017 is truly to look out. Both German sedans offer 4-wheel brake ABS systems, rear and front disc brakes, rack-pinion steering type, and an automatic transmission. However, it is hard to fault their near-perfect luxuriously appointed cabins.

Performance

The BMW 3-Series is designed to stand out on the roads of UAE. The aggressive look of this German sedan truly sets it apart from other automobiles in its class. With its 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, it can hit a top speed of 235 km/h and accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.3-seconds – plenty considering it produces 184 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class, in contrast, is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder unit that while bearing a smaller displacement, can produce 156 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. With a top speed of 223 km/h, it is also capable of keeping up with the beefier BMW.

Verdict

BMW 3 Series 2017 Side

When it comes to premium sedans, the Germans win it. Both cars provide premium feel and modern amenities that, while other makers may also have nowadays, it doesn’t really feel the same. Mercedes-Benz went with a fresh approach with its design for the C-Class reminiscent of its big brothers, the E and S-class. BMW, on the other hand, are a bit subtler with theirs. It can be said that Mercedes is trying to attract a much younger demographic with its models these days. It’s a tough call but based from overall appeal alone, this goes to the Benz.
